Sent on behalf of Tonya Hoover, Deputy Fire Administrator, Superintendent, NFA, USFA

August 25, 2020,

Dear Instructor,

Thank you for your patience with us while we assess the situation with COVID-19. Senior agency leadership met on August 17th to determine a path forward. During that meeting it was decided that we will continue to evaluate conditions with COVID-19 on a periodic basis and will make decisions on class cancellations at 45 day intervals. Currently, the decision has been made to suspend on-campus training at the National Fire Academy for the month of October. On or around September 18th, there will be an additional communication pertaining to November courses.

Very Respectfully,

Tonya L. Hoover, Deputy Fire Administrator
Department of Homeland Security/FEMA
